Crime Spike in Caloundra suburb
Police are worried about a spike in property theft at Pelican Waters.
In the last few weeks, FIVE properties in three streets have been targeted by thieves, either breaking into homes or into cars parked outside.
Police believe in many cases the offenders are from outside the Sunshine Coast district.
They’re reminding residents and business owners to lock up and consider investing in other security measures including motion lighting or CCTV.
Medifarm preparation work continues
Work is continuing at a secret and high security Sunshine Coast location, where marijuana will be grown for medicinal purposes.
Medifarm will run the first of its kind farm in Australia…cultivating the fast growing plant in green houses to make cannabis oil to treat medical conditions like inflammation and epilepsy.
Medifarm CEO ADAM BENJAMIN says the submission to the Office of Drug Control was about 3000 pages to gain approval.
The site will alarmed with 24-hour security.
Earth Harp coming to Horizon Fest
Preparation is continuing ahead of the Horizon Festival of Arts and Culture later this month.
Event organisers have confirmed Los-Angeles based installation artist and musician WILLIAM CLOSE will headline two free concerts.
He’ll perform with his famed EARTH HARP- which has previously featured at the Colosseum in Rome and the Grand Theatre of Shanghai.
