Historical sex offence charges
Detectives from the Sunshine Coast Child Protection and Investigation Unit have charged a 58-year old man with historical sex offences.
The charges relate to an alleged incident back in 1991 at Hinchinbrook Island.
The Buderim man is due to appear in the Maroochydore Magistrates Court next month.
Local avocado business inspires others to export
The State Government’s Trade and Investment Minister is hoping an emerging success story for a local business will inspire others to consider their export options.
CURTIS PITT says Sunshine Coast based Sunfresh is one of 22 companies that went to HOFEX in HONG KONG, as part of a state trade mission, and just six weeks later it’s reaping the rewards…with orders totalling more than $200,000.
A Queensland seafood business, a fishing business and even a honey business have also received orders from contacts made at the trade show.
Roadworks near completion
Work to fix a land-slip prone section of Black Mountain Road is almost complete.
The $600,000 project has seen the slope near Eungella Drive reinforced with more than 2,000 cubic metres of rock, while the road itself has been moved up to four metres out from the hillside.
The works should be completed by the end of the month.
